this rare vantage point was gifted to me by the city of New York during its "Summer Streets" event in which 7 miles of roadway is closed to vehicular traffic.

if my train hadn't hit a delay for some 20 minutes outside of manhattan i never would've been able to capture this transcendent moment which has taken place time and time again for 100 years...
